Artificial intelligence meets Quality Management

Updated: Jun 5, 2023

This week I had so much fun testing out the ChatGPT artificial intelligence chatbot! I asked it to write a Linkedin update but it was so enthusiastically promoting itself as a Quality expert that I preferred to ask it to write a blogpost instead...

The text below between "" is not edited and shows you what the AI system currently can do! I asked the system to write a blogpost about my 2 passions : quality management and music, and this is the result.

“Tuning Up Your Quality Management: A Symphony of Success”

"Have you ever wondered what quality management and a music orchestra have in common? Well, you're in luck because I'm here to explore the similarities between these two seemingly disparate topics.

First, both quality management and a music orchestra require strict standards and attention to detail. In quality management, this means having clear guidelines and procedures in place to ensure that products or services meet certain specifications. In a music orchestra, it means making sure that every musician is playing their instrument in tune and following the conductor's direction.

Second, both quality management and a music orchestra require collaboration and communication. In quality management, this means working with different departments and team members to ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same goals. In a music orchestra, it means coordinating with other musicians to create a harmonious and cohesive sound.

Third, both quality management and a music orchestra require continuous improvement. In quality management, this means regularly evaluating processes and making changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. In a music orchestra, it means practicing and rehearsing to fine-tune individual and group performances.

So there you have it, quality management and a music orchestra may seem like vastly different things, but they actually have a lot in common. Both require strict standards, collaboration, communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. And just like a well-oiled machine, when these elements come together, the result is something truly beautiful to behold."

What did you think, ready to replace your quality management responsible with AI?

I was already impressed but the system is of course not perfect yet. If you ask it to write a procedure, it copies the ISO9001 standard but this is not helping your organization of course (it is not only not compliant but also not useful in your daily work!). The strength of human interaction is still needed here: an enthusiastic and knowledgeable human expert (like me) asking you what your organization needs, comparing it with the current status and empathically helping people to create a better-suited quality procedure or project.

This is of course where I can help you (now that I win time if my AI friend does my copywriting, just kidding...)

Via the following calendar you can immediately book a free 30 minutes consultation with me to review what I can do for your company in to help you to win time, energy and of course efficiency:

Some practical examples:

- provide training (in-house, external or online) about ISO standards, Quality topics & process improvement (incl. KPI's)

- execute an internal audit or supplier audit for you

- support a Quality improvement project (eg. implementing or improving a ISO9001 / IATF16949 / ISO14001 / VDA 6.3 / ISO45001 system)

- upgrading your current systems to include sustainability

- creating an integrated management system to eg. save auditing time

- support temporarily with interim Quality management, possibly linked to handover and training of your new team member

- learning about new tools to improve your business processes (eg. dashboarding, AI,...)

P.S. I also made it difficult for my new AI friend by asking him to create jokes about quality management, but let's be honest, probably there was not that much existing material for the artificial intelligence to begin with :-)
